Playing a game rescheduled due to rain the previous day, Monte Vista lost 6-1 in seven innings at Foothill High on Wednesday, despite outhitting Foothill six to five.
Foothill didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring two runs in the first inning, scoring on a fielder’s choice and an RBI single.
Mackenzie Murphy was charged with the loss, allowing 2 earned runs and 4 unearned runs in six innings, walked two and struck out five.
Malia Torres had 2 hits, along with hits from Murphy, Lindsay Rood, Mikayla Mills and Devon Parker.
