In the bottom of the first, Monte Vista grabbed the early lead, 3-0. After Lindsay Rood singled, the Mustangs kept the pressure on Logan High School pitching, as Murphy doubled, scoring Rood. More runs came home for Monte Vista when Natalie Parker scored on an RBI single by Jordan Maddox and Mills scored on a fielder’s choice.
However, Logan High School never trailed after scoring five runs in the third on a two-run double by Burpee, a two-run error, and a fielder’s choice. Final score, James Logan 7 – Monte Vista 4.
