The Varsity Mustangs jumped out to an early lead against Deer Valley and captured a 13-0 victory on Tuesday (3/10/15) at MV.
Eight runs in the first three innings allowed the Mustangs to put the game away early. A three-run home run by Jordan Maddox, RBIs from Alicia Yoshino, Malia Torres, Mackenzie Murphy, as well as Erin Yoshino in the first two innings supplied the early offense for Monte Vista.
Maddox racked up three RBIs on two hits, Erin Yoshino was 3 for 3 and both Natalie Parker and Danielle Morelan hit doubles for Monte Vista.
Deer Valley had no answer for Murphy, who kept runners off the basepaths in her appearance. Murphy gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out one during her 4 2/3 innings of work.
