Monte Vista Beats San Ramon in Extra Innings, 3-2

Alicia Yoshino drove home the winning run to give Monte Vista the walk-off victory over San Ramon in the bottom of the ninth inning on Tuesday.

Danielle Morelan walked to get on base in the ninth and then went from first to second on a groundout by Erin Yoshino.

Alicia Yoshino had a hot bat for Monte Vista, going 3-5, drove in the winning run and scored one run.

Lindsay Rood reached base four times in the game for Monte Vista, including a double in the first inning.

The Mustangs relied on Mackenzie Murphy to eat up innings en route to the win. Murphy pitched nine innings and allowed no earned runs, seven hits and one walk while striking out two.

The bottom of the first saw Monte Vista take an early lead, 1-0. The rally started when Rood doubled and moved to on a passed ball. Natalie Parker then singled, scoring Rood.

The Mustangs Varsity scored their second run of the game on an RBI triple by Tressa Schroth, bringing home Yoshino.
