Devon Parker went 3-3 at the plate as Monte Vista took home a 5-0 victory over Foothill at MV on Thursday. Parker singled in the second, fourth, and sixth innings and scored 2 runs to lead the Mustangs.
Monte Vista’s Mackenzie Murphy kept Foothill off the scoreboard for all seven innings she was on the rubber. She pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on six hits.
The Mustangs started the scoring in the second. The inning started after Erin Yoshino reached on a fly ball error to right field. Alicia Yoshino singled to center, followed by a single to right by Natalie Parker to load the bases. Tressa Schroth then walked, scoring Erin Yoshino. Lindsay Rood reached on a fielder’s choice with the throw going home to get Alicia Yoshino out. With the bases still loaded, Natalie Parker walked, scoring Devon Parker. Mackenzie Murphy then reached base on an error by the shortstop, allowing both Tressa Schroth and Lindsay Rood to score.
The final run of the day came on one of two doubles by Lindsay Rood, scoring Devon Parker in the bottom of the 6th.
