MV Comes From Behind, Beats Granada 4-3

Mackenzie Murphy was strong at the plate and in the circle in carrying Monte Vista to a 4-3 victory over Granada on Tuesday at MV.

Granada took an early lead on a 3 run home run in the top of the first, but Murphy homered in the bottom of the first after Lindsay Rood singled to start the inning, closing the gap to 3-2.

The lead stayed with Monte Vista after the fourth inning when they scored two runs on an RBI single by Devon Parker, scoring Danielle Morelan and Erin Yoshino who both had 2 hits on the day.

Murphy picked up the win for the Mustangs, pitching seven innings and allowing three earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out five.
