MV Takes Lead Into 7th, Loses to Amador 4-2

Monte Vista lost a hotly contested 4-2 game in seven innings on Thursday at MV after surrendering the lead in the seventh inning.

Danielle Williams got the win for Amador. She allowed one run over four innings. She struck out nine, walked none and surrendered two hits.

Mackenzie Murphy ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She walked three, struck out three, and allowed four runs.

Amador jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the second, but Monte Vista countered with a run in the bottom of the third after Amador committed an error on a ground ball by Mackenzie Murphy that allowed Rood to score from second base.

The Mustangs took the lead in the bottom of the 5th after Rood singled and eventually scored on a base hit by Jordan Maddox.

The 1 run lead heading into the top of the 7th was not enough for Monte Vista as Amador scored 3 times and held on for a 4-2 victory.
